If a photon light of the right frequency is absorbed by an electron, the electron jump to a higher frequency,if the electron releases a photon of light it will be jump to a lower energy state.

Certain transitions are more likely to occur than others. The ones that have a high probability of a occurring are called the allowed transition while the ones that are less likely take place are called forbidden transitions

In quantum mechanics a set of rule exist known as the selection rule that and the allowed transition

Δl=$±$1,Δml= 0,$±$1

These rules tell us that electron cannot jump between two orbitals that differs by more than one orbital quantum number.

From the selection rule the electron can jump from any of 2P orbital to 2s orbital

But notice that electron cannot jump between two P orbital because Δl= 0.

Some  question arise by JEE main aspirant

Average student crack Jee 2022:-

Yes an average student can crack he/she provided he is ready to work hard with consistency there have been many average students who cleared with good ranks in the past year.

JEE 2022 to be more competitive:-

The level of competition in 2022 will be no I think because many students are giving up as they are unable to attend classes in offline mode due to the lockdown by covid-19 because online classes were not affected, I think of an offline class is more better than online classes.

Selection Rule Of Rigid Diatomic Molecule

∆J = ±1

This rule says that when schrodinger wave equation show that for this molecule we consider transitions in which J change by one unit all the other transition being spectroscopically forbidden.

For Heteronuclear diatomic molecule are microwave active molecule i.e HCl, HBr, CO, NO etc

For Homonuclear diatomic molecule are microwave inactive molecule i.e H2, Cl2, N2, O2 etc

Electrostatics:-

It is branch of physics which deals with the study with electric charge at rest is called as electrostatics.

Mass can neither be created nor destoryed in any physical and chemical changes.

Charge can neither be created nor destroyed in any physical and chemical changes.

Historical Development:-

The father of greek in the science,Thales of miltus when amber is rubber in wool is attracting bits of straw.Electron is greek name of amber. In scientist Queen Elizabeth first scientific account in early experience of electric and magnetic field.

Two Kinds of electricity:-
• Resonus:- When amber isrubbed in wool then it give negative charge
• Vitreous:- The elctricity is developed on the wool it give positively charge

Positve Charge:- When a body lose the electron then they accquire negatively Charge

Negative Charge:- When a body gain the electron then it accqire negatively charge.

Method of Charge:-

Charging by conduction:-

When a neutral body is brought in the contact charged body then it accquire positive charge. This method is called as charging by conduction.

Charging by friction:-

When a neutral body is rubbed against in the neutral charged body then it may be accquired the negatively charge is called as the charging of friction. Then electricity is produced by the friction is called as the Frictional electricity.
