Possessive Case :-


  • Determiner + Noun. For Example  my your
  • Possessive case = No use of reflexive pronoun  


Kinds of Pronoun :- 


Personal Pronoun :-


  • 1st Person :- I, We
  • 2nd Person :- You 
  • 3rd person :- He , She , It & They

Determiner + Noun 


your is determiner so we need noun .


2- Me and my friends (a) often go (b) to the cinema (c) together (d)


Answer :- (a)


Me is objective case so we need the I Subjective Case

Reflexive Pronoun :- 


Reflexive Pronoun are used only as object not as the subject and it is only used when subject and object are same.


For Example :- 


1- I am not happy with me .


Answer :- I (Subjective Case ) = Me (Objective Case)


When subject and object are same so we use Reflexive Pronoun


Change me to myself


Correct Sentence :- I am not happy with myself..




2- You should avail such opportunities.


Answer :-


Important Rule:-  avail + Reflexive + of + object


You should avail yourself of such opportunities. 




Some verb are used with an object we generally use a reflexive pronoun 



Absent,present,Injure,Enjoy,Express,Avail,Adapt,Exert,Amuse,Avenge,Revenge,Hurt,Disguise,Apply,Resign,Submit,Acquit etc.

Question Types Of Reflexive Pronoun :- 


  1. Sometimes we don't know what to do with us 
  2. He hurt myself.
  3. I hurt myself.
  4. My father and myself went to Mumbai. 

Emphatic Pronoun :- 


Forms of reflexive and emphatic pronouns are same but usage are different. Reflexive always use in objective case but emphatic not use subject as well as objective case.


  1. I myself solved all the question. (Emphatic Sense)
  2. They themselves cut the tree (Emphatic Sense)
  3. I hurt myself (Reflexive Sense)
  4. They cut themselves (Reflexive sense)


Note ;- These Verbs are used with an object we generally use a reflexive pronoun 


Absent,Present,Express,Avail,Enjoy,Injure,Adapt,Exert,Resign,Submit,Avenge,Hurt,Disguise,Apply,Reconile,Satisfy,Accustom,Adjust,Introduce,Blame,Devote,Pride etc.
