The work of the canal started in 2008.One part of the canal was inaugurated by the Prime Minister in 2017 and the remaining part is going to be inaugurated in 2022.This canal will help in providing irrigation facility in Kutch and provide drinking water to all 948 villages and 10 towns of Kutch district.
