Electric Field Handwritten Notes Pdf Here Electrostatics:-   It is branch of physics which deals with the study with electric charge at rest is called as electrostatics. Mass can neither be created nor destoryed in any physical and chemical changes. Charge can neither be created nor destroyed in any physical and chemical changes. Historical Development:-  The father of greek in the science,Thales of miltus when amber is rubber in wool is attracting bits of straw.Electron is greek name of amber. In scientist Queen Elizabeth first scientific account in early experience of electric and magnetic field. Two Kinds of electricity:-  Resonus:- When amber isrubbed in wool then it give negative charge Vitreous:- The elctricity is developed on the wool it give positively charge Positve Charge: - When a body lose the electron then they accquire negatively Charge Negative Charge: - When a body gain the electron then it accqire negatively charge. Method of Charge:-  Ch...

To study kinetic of lodination of propanone by colorimeter & to determine the rate equation of the rxn b/w acidified propanone sol and lodine

Image
Aim :-  To study kinetic of lodination of propanone by colorimeter & to determine the rate equation of the reaction between acidified propanone sol and lodine. Requirements :-  Colorimetry setup Micropipette 5ml graduated pipette IMMER I propanone solution Deionised water. Theory :-  The concentration of iodine decreases and the brown colour intensity of the reacting solution also decreases. The change in colour intensity allows the use of colorimetry to follow reaction kinetics. Colorimetry works on the principle of beer lambert Law, which states that the art of light transmitter through a coloured solution decreases exponentially with increase in conc (c) of coloured solution and increase in path length (L) of cuvette. This is valid for only dilute solutions.Decrease in conc. of species can be measured by the change in absorbance. Relative rate of disappearance of iodine, is measured from the absorbance us time plot. This avoid making of calliberation curve of ...

Symmetry criteria for optical activity

Image
Symmetry criteria for optical activity :-  Non-superimposable mirror image Symmetry criteria for optical activity Lacks a plane of symmetry No Centre of symmetry S1 = σ S2 = i Neither σ nor i but has S n-optically inactive Condition- Does not have Sn axis (must be dissymmetric or asymmetric)  S4 Not dissymmetric Asymmetric- lack all symmetry elements (Cn; n=1) Dissymmetric – Cn axis and no other element Point groups-optical active :-  All Cn and Dn molecules (lack Sn axis) Must be dissymmetric Symmetry restrictions on dipole moments Lacking dipole moment :-  Inversion Contain more than one Cn axis Why meso compounds are achiral ?   An achiral compound with chiral centers is referred to as a meso compound. A meso compound has two or more stereocenters but is optically inactive because it has an internal plane of symmetry that allows it to be superimposed on its mirror counterpart.
